Album overview
Specimen is the second studio album released by Exuvioth in 2022.
The album was written and produced alongside the debut album ‘Exuvioth’, and was released shortly after. Specimen utilises various custom nature recordings, including disturbances in bodies of water, thunder storms, birds, and rain, to produce eerie environmental soundscapes.
Artistic Vision
The concept artwork and animations designed for Specimen depict an insect humanoid confined in an incubation tube for biological research and dissection.
The artwork acts as a sci-fi metaphor for the feeling of alienation, being regarded as the other, seen and observed but not truly understood. Various obscure medical apparatus are attached to the specimen, to minimally support it’s survival in the incubation tube.
All artworks and animations created for this release were developed by utilising various methods of 3D design, modelling, scuplting, and animation.
[ Ver 1.1 ] Edition
During 2025, various social media platforms removed the original album from their music libraries, as it was deemed “non-engagement material”. This is likely due to the abbyssal ambient thematics and extensive track length.
[ Ver 1.1 ] is simply a shortened, remastered version of the original album, designed to bypass the track length threshold,and re-introduce the album into social media music libraries.

Album overview
Exuvioth is the self titled debut studio album released by the experimental electronic music artist, Exuvioth. This release marks the artist’s return to a consolidated, solo production style, as previous albums and creative works had been released under various aliases and collaborative bands.
Artistic Vision
Exuvioth explores themes of transcendentalism, creative metamorphosis, and biological evolution (both visually and musically) through various means of experimentation and artistic manifestation.
The concept of trans-species metamorphosis between humanoids, insects, and plants is highly prevalent across the various artworks and musical compositions featured as part of this release. The album is written from the perspective of a specimen undergoing these vast morphological changes, experiencing shifts in the composition of mind, and mutations in the physical form.
The hieroglyphic symbols depicted in the artwork represent the 4 stages of metamorphosis in holometabolous insects: Egg, Larva, Pupa, and Imago. These 4 stages of metamorphosis also reflect the overarching structure and flow throughout the album.
All artworks and animations created for this release were developed by utilising various methods of 3D design & animation, 2D vector art, and 2D animation techniques.
